Geoff has a 25-year career as an accomplished Senior Executive, delivering tangible contributions to organisations through technology transformation to support business and strategy growth.

Geoff is a member of the Australian Computer Society’s Professional Education Governance Committee and is passionate about rectifying the gender diversity imbalance in STEM. Geoff is invited to speak nationally in the areas of eCommerce, Technology Transformation and IT Leadership.



Richard Heron

Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) – Melbourne Water

Richard has been working in Information Security and IT Risk for 20 years. In that time he has been in charge of security departments in the finance, retail and utility sectors.

At Melbourne Water, Richard manages a team of Cyber Security and IT Risk specialists. Beyond his work at Melbourne Water, Richard is actively involved with being a Master of Ceremonies for the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life as well as helping the Cyber Security community through the following positions.

      • Executive Advisory Board – Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC)
      • Executive Advisory Board for Cyber (EABC) – Deakin University, Melbourne

Shane Laffin

Head of Information Security – Reece Group

Shane is an experienced leader, developing cross-functional capabilities to manage risk and compliance. He approaches risk with an opportunistic perspective to define, control, monitor and review in line with business appetite and compliance drivers.

Shane reports directly to the Reece Group CTO and the Reece Groups Risk committee which feeds into the Reece board. He has built the Group’s security function to align with the strategic objectives and vision. Beyond his work at the Reece Group, Shane is actively involved with the Cyber Security community through the following board positions.
