The world is changing around us. Digital technology has become a core part of our everyday lives. Advances in technology impact everything, especially the world of work. We’re building a future that is geared towards—and depends on—tech industry jobs. But what does a career in tech look like?
Davin Kumar gets excited about people development and making things work efficiently. A Malaysia-born Aussie, he convinced his family to leave the sunny shores of Sydney and move to the “little red dot” (Singapore) in hopes of soaking in what Asia has to offer.
Davin’s career has been non-linear. Having studied to be a Petroleum Engineer, he decided to cut his teeth at sales to learn all about “the hustle” before moving to PwC to be a recruiter in their Consulting division. Davin is currently the Staffing Channels Lead for Google APAC, where he and his team have a mission to uncover future Googlers who can help build products for the next billion users. Outside of work, Davin is happiest when spending time with his wife and 2 girls, besides being a self-confessed “F45 junkie” and pondering where (and when) his next Asian escapade will be.
Nicolle is an ex-military kid who has naturally surrounded herself with all things people – from theatre and volunteering to her studies and career. After completing school across five countries, she returned to England to study Psychology at university.
Nicolle started her career in agency recruitment before hopping on a plane to Australia. Having demonstrated fruit picking wasn’t her strong suit, she returned to the world of recruitment. This time supporting internal teams, she found a passion in the Campus domain. After a formative two years at PwC Nicolle joined Optiver, a technology driven trading company, where she now leads the Campus Recruitment team. Outside (and inside) of work Nicolle is a bit of a foodie – so her weekends are often spent exploring new restaurants and coffee spots.
Brandon has been at PwC for over 5 years and is currently working as a Campus Recruitment and Operations Associate in the Sydney office. Whilst completing his Marketing and IT degree at UTS in Sydney, he started his career as a Trainee in the Risk Assurance and Financial Services business areas, working with Australia’s largest banks, insurance, government, and tech organisations.
In early 2018, Brandon joined PwC’s Campus Recruitment team, where he has been working to connect, inspire and share his own PwC experiences with students, whilst helping them to build their personal brand in the process. He was nominated in 2019 as part of the Australian Association of Graduate Employers’ Top 25 Graduate Recruiters list, and the ‘Most Popular Graduate Recruiter’ Award, as voted by the students of Australia. Outside of work, Brandon is a tech enthusiast, and a passionate AFL and Formula 1 fan.
